About
Cara Law is a Garden City estate planning and elder law practice serving families across Long Island. Founding and managing partner Jacqueline A. Cara, JD, handles matters ranging from simple wills to more complex trust work, asset protection, tax planning and Medicaid eligibility planning. The office also prepares advance directives, powers of attorney and health care proxies, and files Medicaid applications for clients who need help paying for long-term care.
Special needs planning is a core part of the practice, including supplemental needs trusts, guardianship proceedings and protection of government benefits. After a death, the firm assists with probate, trust administration, small estate proceedings and intestate proceedings. As a small office, Cara Law builds individualized plans and focuses on explaining options in plain terms. It works with couples, single adults, blended families, families with disabled children, older adults and small business owners.
