Home Care 7twenty6 is an Amityville agency that provides individual skill-building and behavior support to adults covered by New York Medicaid, working with them at home and out in the community. Its two core services are Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), offered to participants in the state's Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) waiver programs. Staff help people practice tasks such as keeping a routine, managing appointments, planning meals and shopping, running a household and using transportation, and they work on strategies for handling stress and difficult situations.
