Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP is a full-service law firm with offices in Mineola and Manhattan, and its Elder Law Practice Group advises older New Yorkers and their families on the legal and financial side of aging. The group's work includes Medicaid eligibility and long-term care planning, often using a Medicaid Asset Protection Trust that shelters assets while the client keeps receiving income, along with estate planning, wills and trusts, special needs planning, probate and estate administration, and guardianships. A separate practice group handles mental health, guardianship and elder law litigation, and the firm's trusts and estates and tax attorneys can coordinate a broader plan.
