Personal QR (PQR)

Personal QR (P-QR) is a St. James, New York company that gives people a scannable code that links to their emergency contacts, medications, allergies and other health details. Founder Janice Thorn built the service so that a first responder or passerby can quickly reach the right people when someone is hurt, lost or unable to speak. Each member gets a dynamic code tied to an online profile that can be edited at any time. A public page holds the basics, while a password-protected section, open only to the member and the people they authorize, can store medical conditions and documents such as a health care proxy, living will or power of attorney. Codes can go on a phone lock screen, stickers, bracelets, jewelry or iron-on clothing labels and need no battery. Individual and family plans are offered, with uses for older adults, children and pets.
