Senior Care Companions

SeniorCare Companions, Inc. is a non-medical home care company in Islip that places companion caregivers with older adults. It is licensed by New York State as an employment agency, was started by local physicians, and serves Nassau and Suffolk Counties along with all five boroughs of New York City. Schedules range from four-hour visits once a week to care 24 hours a day, including live-in arrangements, and caregivers can also provide one-on-one help to clients living in assisted living communities. Caregivers assist with meals, light housekeeping, laundry, medication reminders, supervision of personal care, errands, transportation and companionship, and they receive specialized training in Alzheimer's and dementia care. Before placement, applicants go through background checks, drug testing and medical screening, and care coordinators match each client with a compatible caregiver.
